At CES 2016, MSI has unveiled a brand new high-performance gaming laptop that includes an integrated Tobii eye tracking system, which the company claims is a world first.
The eye-tracking system integrated into the MSI GT72S Tobii, which is short for GT72S 6QE-835CA Dominator Pro G Tobii, sits just below the 17.3-inch 1080p display. When the system is tracking your eyes, "game characters and environments will react to your gaze, focus and attention" in supported titles.
At this stage, Tobii eye-tracking is supported in only a small collection of games, including Assassin's Creed Rogue, Arma 3, Flight Simulator, and Euro Truck Simulator 2. The functionality will also be coming to Tom Clancy's The Division, which will be released on March 8th and will be bundled with the GT72S Tobii.
Aside from the eye-tracking hardware, the GT72S is a fairly typical high-end gaming laptop. There's an Intel Core i7-6820HK CPU inside, paired with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M with 8 GB of GDDR5, 32 GB of DDR4 memory, a 256 GB SDD, a 1 TB hard drive, and a good selection of ports including USB Type-C.
The laptop also supports Nvidia G-Sync, features Killer networking, and comes with a SteelSeries keyboard featuring RGB lighting. You'll be able to get your hands on one later this month, although there's no word on how much it'll cost, though you can bet it'll be pricey.
Aside from the GT72S Tobii, MSI will be showing off three other laptops at CES: the portable 14-inch GS40 Phantom with a Skylake CPU and GTX 970M; the GS72 Stealth Pro, which is the company's slimmest and lightest 17-inch gaming notebook, and packs a 4K display; and the WS72 workstation with an Intel Xeon CPU. All three of these laptops have already been announced and are either available now, or will be available this month.
